Greg Gurevich is the Portfolio Manager and the Founding Partner at Maritime Capital. Prior to founding Maritime Capital, Mr. Gurevich was a co-head of fixed income trading at Legend Securities. Prior to Legend Securities, Mr. Gurevich was a trader in the Professional Trading Group at the Royal Bank of Canada. During his tenure at the Royal Bank of Canada, Mr. Gurevich developed a quantitative trading strategy and successfully traded through the turmoil of the 2008 financial crisis focusing on convertible and preferred securities.
Previously, from June 2007 to April 2008, Mr. Gurevich was an analyst in the Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) at BlackRock Solutions where he built and utilized fixed income risk analytics technology to provide reports for portfolio managers for multiple fixed income products including municipal bonds.
In 2005, Mr. Gurevich was a co-founder of ClickFacts, Inc., a click-fraud technology company in the online advertisement space which was funded by YCombinator. He was awarded his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation by the CFA Institute in 2011. Mr. Gurevich received his Bachelor of Science in information systems from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania in 2006.
Anthony Buzzi joined Maritime as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in May of 2012. Mr. Buzzi was a Managing Director of Société Générale and was Global Head of Client Service after designing and implementing a blueprint for a Prime Brokerage Service offering.
Prior to Société Générale, Mr. Buzzi was the COO of North Sound Capital, which grew to a $3 billion global long/short hedge fund.
Prior to North Sound, Mr. Buzzi spent 15 years at Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage as an Executive Director/Senior Relationship Manager overseeing a team of 35 client representatives responsible for approximately 120 hedge fund clients. He earned a B.B.A. from Iona College in 1984.
Hilton Lipschitz is the Chief Technology Officer at Maritime Capital and joined the firm in June 2013. Mr. Lipschitz has over 24 years of experience in systems and technology, especially in workflow, trading, accounting, risk management and data management across a variety of industries, including finance, retail, risk and consulting.
Previously, Mr. Lipschitz was the Founder and CEO of Noverse, LLC, a technology consulting and development services firm for asset management firms. Prior to Noverse, Mr. Lipschitz was a Managing Director, Chief Technology Officer for Agamas Capital Management from 2004 to 2009 and a Vice President of Information Technology for Simplex Asset Management from 2000 to 2004.
Mr. Lipschitz was the CEO of Indaba Solutions, a services and consulting business in Sydney, Australia from 1995 to 2000. Mr. Lipschitz received a Bachelor of Business Science in computer science with Honors from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1989.
Jiakou Wang is Senior Quantitative Trading Strategist and Head of Risk Management with Maritime Capital in New York and joined in February 2016. Previously, Mr. Wang developed and implemented municipal bond quantitative trading strategies at Citigroup. Prior to Citigroup, Jiakou was a Quantitative Trading Analyst at Lehman Brothers.
Jiakou holds a Ph.D. in Finance from The University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Penn State University.
Rich Michalowski joined Maritime Capital, LLC as a Head Trader in March 2014. He was previously the US Head Trader for Citi Investment Management, a $27B asset management boutique within Citi Private Bank. He was responsible for managing and executing the trade flow for equities, investment grade corporate and municipal bonds.
He oversaw the operations of the trading desk and acted as the liaison between the desk and the different business partners. His previous equity trading roles over the last 15 years included time as a trader at Millennium Partners, LP as well as a market maker and proprietary trader at BLM Investment Securities.
Mr. Michalowski received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1996 from University of Connecticut.
Christine Egan is Director of Marketing and Investor Relations with Maritime Capital in New York and joined in 2015. Previously, Ms. Egan was a Director of Kaufman Rossin Fund Services in New York for over 8 years. Prior to that she held marketing and consulting roles with Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage, HSBC, and Wellington Management.
In addition to her strong sales skills, Christine brings a wealth of operational and best practice experience gained from two decades of exposure to private funds. Christine graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts with a bachelor's degree in accounting and received her CPA designation in 1993.
Christine serves on the Board of Directors for The Safe Center Long Island (TSCLI). Christine was inducted into the Global Custodian Securities Services Hall of Fame in 2013 and is an active member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
